Designers Marketplace Pop-Up Shop. Work for SALE!!

Designers Marketplace has had it’s Pop-Up shop in full swing for quite some time now, but I’ve recently popped along and dropped a bunch of illustration and print work into it’s handy Portfolio Sell Off section where hopefully I’ll receive some attention from the more local art and design appreciators.

If you haven’t already, get down and check out the local talent and grab a bargain and see exhibitions from the constant changing artist in residence. founder of Designers Marketplace Helen Steven’s will be shutting up shop fairly soon before taking part in Middlesbrough’s very first Fashion Week with an open air market.

2010 or 20 10?

Happy 2010 guys!! May this be a better year and hopefully good things to follow. A bit belated with the new year wishes but I’ve been busy trying to get round to organizing myself and sending out mail. I’ve written my list of things to accomplish in 2010 which is actually so long I’m going to have to complete at least two tasks a day to complete them all, but so far non of which have been fully complete. Main things to achieve is the big move to London (or wherever my career will take me) and to get a new site designed and up and running. Also a new collection of  prints is to be completed which will go on sale at the end of February – I’ll keep you updated on an exact date.

So with an optimistic outlook on the year of 2010 so far here’s some featured sites to get them creative brains motivated.

Letterpress happy!!

I should really keep up with this blogging malarkey. I keep finding lots of bits & bobs but keep forgetting to share all my inspiration and finds with you guys. I will update on a regular basis from now on though, promise….. I’m finding twitter to be a helpful tool for finding new designers and design studios. Follow me.

I seem to have gone back to my letterpress craze and the obsessive blog browsing is also kicking in, I could seriously browse blogs for days on end but it’s stopping me from doing any of my own work which is in desperate need as i’m feeling very useless without paper, printer ink, pens (they run out before the pen even touches the paper) and a lack of motivation to do my own work…. and also now I lack a letterpress which I am in dire need of or in my case just want, so if anyone wants to buy me one your very much welcome.

Adam Ramerth at Lark designed this unique set of letterpress wedding invitations which I must say go beyond the usual traditional bland choice of wedding stationary. Studio On Fire have also done an amazing job with the letterpress work. Niiiiiice!!

“Guns dont kill people, sneakers do!”

DSC_0153So many things have been started and not finished so its not a surprise that I randomly wanted to illustrate guns and sneakers, hence the title “Guns don’t kill people, sneakers do”.  I must get round to finishing the other projects started in the last couple of months, but I find myself illustrating the most unrelated objects to my concepts that I set myself.  I’ve gone from dollar bills to guns & sneakers…  do these objects have any relation? probably not but I’ve enjoyed illustrating them and that’s all the matters right? In fact I’ll probably just end up blending them all into one concept. Colouring in book for children I’m thinking or even graphics for children’s wear. Sure both of these are slightly controversial but I like it.

Finally I’ve give into this whole Twitter malarkey so if you want to hear from me and read the most random daily quotes (most meaning absolutely nothing) twitter me!
